, the creature whose larvae they had killed earlier. They realized that the beast was responsible for the attacks of the larvae, and engaged into battle with it. When the beast was killed, they destroyed the remaining two machines, killing their guards, and consulted their datapad. According to the data, the last and most powerful high-energy source was located inside a nearby cave.Inside the dimly lit cavern, they saw the last machine - and a huge, hideous creature, identified by the bioscanner as a Subteroth | SubterothCreatureNon-sentient |
, trapped inside another machine. The machine seemed to be keeping the creature in place and sucking the life energy out of it, powering all the machines. The operatives destroyed the last machine, and the energy, holding Subteroth in its field, dissipated. Freed from the capture, Subteroth roared and attacked. The massive creature was fast and powerful, but the operatives were ready for it. The fight was short, and soon the creature lay dead in front of them. Inside the cave, they found a console and learned that Subteroth was actually the power source that powered all of the terraforming machines.
